The bottom round is cut from the rear leg of the animal. It's lean, no doubt about it.  Bottom Round Roasts make excellent pot roasts and are a good choice for the slow cooker or crock pot.  But you don't have to be afraid of a little toughness when the flavor is this great so a traditional dry roast works too, just be sure to carve thin slices for best results.
